My Prayer for Release
To you O God, I cry out
As I remember joy and laughter,
And yet, more intimately do
I know sorrow, pain and loneliness
In the deepest parts of my soul.
I have known what it means
to be trusted, and to trust whole heartedly,
And yet, more intimately do
I know the sorrows, pains and loneliness of trust.
I have known what it means
to love and be loved,
And yet, more intimately do
I know the sorrows, pain and loneliness of love.
O, how I long for the unbridled
joys and laughter of loves embrace,
And yet, more intimately do
I know the sorrows, pain and loneliness of love.
Hear my plea, O God, lover of my soul.
Free me from this earthly prison
of bridled passions that I might
Live in the fullness of Your Glory. Amen.
